無実の罪で拘置所に収監されていたアニメーション監督が、中国の習近平を礼賛する映画を作ることになる。実写とアニメーションを織り交ぜた形式で描かれる、中国共産党の歴史とそれを追う主人公のドラマ。精神世界での「皇帝」との対話を通じて、恐怖と自由の本質に迫る意欲作。
An animation director, imprisoned on false charges, is tasked with creating a film glorifying Xi Jinping. Blending live-action and animation, the film explores the history of the CCP through the protagonist's journey. Through dialogue with the "Emperor" in the spiritual realm, it confronts the essence of fear and freedom.
撮影ノート Cinematography Notes
本作では実写パートとアニメーションパートの視覚的な統一感を保つことが最大の課題でした。実写シーンでは、拘置所の閉塞感を表現するために低照度・狭角レンズを多用し、対照的に精神世界のシーンでは広角レンズと自然光を活かしたオープンな画作りを心がけました。カラーパレットは監督と綿密に打ち合わせ、現実世界は寒色系、精神世界は暖色系で統一しています。
The biggest challenge was maintaining visual cohesion between live-action and animation segments. For live-action scenes, I used low-light setups and narrow-angle lenses to convey the claustrophobia of detention, while spiritual world scenes employed wide-angle lenses and natural light for an open feel. The color palette was carefully coordinated with the director: cool tones for reality, warm tones for the spiritual realm.
